Sage 50 Accounts allows users to generate reports in PDF or Excel format. However, larger reports can take time to produce, and many users often run the same reports repeatedly.
The Sage 50 Report Scheduler add-on streamlines this process by enabling automated, customisable report scheduling. Reports can be generated in the background at set times—without the need to manually open Sage.
Report generation is highly configurable, allowing for any report file with any criteria.
You can choose to output the report as PDF, CSV, Excel and HTML.
If a continued trail of reports are required, the date and time can be included in the file name of the generated reports to avoid overwriting the previous report file.
Any number of custom criteria values specific to the Sage report you intend to run can be specified to filter the data that will be included in the report.
Once finished, the report can be run directly as a test, converted into a batch file that can be run at a later date, or created as a scheduled task in Windows Task Scheduler.
If preferred, the program executable can be run directly, but using a generated batch file allows the same report generation process to be run effortlessly, and simplifies the automation workflow. It also means report generation can be triggered from within existing PowerShell scripts or other batch files.
Going straight to the Task Scheduler does all the work for you. Windows will continue to generate the Sage 50 report at the specified time whenever your machine is switched on.
